Silly accidents

What does a blood clot in the eye, a badly smashed finger, and a nasty bout of viral flu have in common?

Me.
No, i'm serious. They all occurred in the space of 4 weeks.
About a month ago, i woke up with a huge blood clot in my left eye. It makes me look like a vampire with a bloodshot eye.
Reason: I had accidentally scratched the eyeball while taking out a contact lens the night before. Some anti-inflammation medicine and a bottle of eye drops from the doctor healed my eye in two weeks. Praise God.

A few days later after the clot is gone, i managed to borrow a church friend's cute little Kelisa for three days. The car came in really handy on the second day because i needed to be at the airport at 4 A.M. to send a couple off. That same evening, when i was at the gas station pumping gas, i managed to slam the car door COMPLETELY on my finger accidentally (OUCH). Please don't ask me how this could ever happen. I drove home with a badly bleeding smashed finger, parked the car and walked to the clinic.
I thought i would lose my finger for sure.
It needed stitches but the doctor said it won't help because the deep gash is too near the nail. The only thing i can do is to let the gash close and heal by itself.
My finger is healing much faster than expected but the nerves at the finger tip still hurt. As of now, i'm out of guitar action for a long time, but i'm typing with my good nine fingers. Thank God.

And yes, the nasty bout of flu completed the cycle. It put me in bed for 8 days, and i've never slept so much in my life.
After two rounds of flu medicine, i'm 100% well. Sleep is a precious gift.

And the promise of resurrection in 1 Corinthians 15 reminds me that if Jesus cares enough about my physical body to resurrect it (and he himself is in one), then it is indeed a precious gift.
No cholesterol problem, no blood clot in the eye, no smashed finger and no flu can ever separate me from this promise in Christ.
